Power Distance

Depending on the type of power distance a culture has, the interactions between students and teachers regarding grades will be different. Low power distance means that the student and teacher are closer to being on the same level of power, and high power distance means that there is a big gap between the power of the student and the teacher. If the culture has low power distance, the student will feel free to discuss openly about the grade the teacher has given. On the other hand, if a culture is based on high power distance, if the student questions or tries to discuss that grade it is considered very disrespectful. The teacher has given that specific grade for a reason and there is no need to question it.
