Perfect Game

A lot of people wonder just what a perfect game is supposed to be. A perfect game could mean the right balance of tension and jubilation, a pitched battle between two hardened teams. In baseball, a perfect game is a situation in which a pitcher does not allow a base hit or run, or even a walk to happen. In essence, 27 batters take the plate, and the same 27 return to the bullpen without having reached base. It has happened only 18 times in Major League Baseball History, the most recent on July 23rd, 2009, when Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buerhle threw one. Most pitchers would give big time fast cash to throw a perfect game.
