Precautions to take while mountain climbing

When climbing a really tall mountain, you have to make sure you don’t get sick from the change in air pressure. The lower the pressure, the fewer the oxygen molecules. This means it will be harder to breathe. More blood will be sent to the brain, and eventually some will leak out of the blood vessels. This causes the brain to swell. If it gets bad enough, the brain will be forced down the spinal column, resulting in death. This is called Cerebral Edema. The heart rate, the breathing rate, and the production of red blood cells will increase. Some climbers get Khumbu Cough. This is a dry cough caused by breathing hard. Sometimes it can be so bad that the person gets broken ribs. Pulmonary Edema is a flu-like illness that usually occurs above 8000 feet. When they go up they get it, but when they descend it goes away.
