Is reading in low light bad for your eyes?

I learned the other day that reading in the dark or in badly lit rooms isn't bad for your eyes at all. I guess it was just a myth. I was actually playing this game called fact or fiction.

It would give you something and you had to guess whether or not it was true. I learned a whole bunch of useless facts. It was good to know though.

Now I can make fun of my parents for giving me crap about reading in the dark. They used to always tell me I would go blind if I kept it up. Now I know that I can read in the dark all I want and it won't ever hurt my eyes like people think.
