Thanksgiving quotes

I love this time of year. I always have to pull out my book of thanksgiving quotes and look at them. I have a few favorites that I would like to share. One of them is W. J. Cameron. He says, "Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action." I like that because it teaches people that they need to give thanks rather than just eating a bunch of food.

It means that people must act around thanksgiving to show their thanks rather than sitting around thinking about it. Another quote I like is by Robert Quillen. He said, "If you can't count your assets, you always show a profit." I love that. It is very true that in order to consider something profit you must be able to see what you really have already.

This makes the idea of knowing and being grateful for the things in your life that you don't even know you should be grateful for. I think that is something everyone should remember. People ought to be grateful for everything that they have. Robert Caspar Lintner said, "Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day." That is also true.

It doesn't make sense that people will spend all year not be thankful and then all the sudden decide one day that they need to be grateful for the turkey in the middle of the table. I don't really understand it at all. People need to be grateful all year round for everything that they get.
