Karachi

The financial capital of Pakistan is Karachi. It is also Pakistan's most populous city and one of the most populous cities in the world. Located on the coast of the Arabia Sea, Karachi supports two important ports and has many beautiful beaches.

Karachi is primarily flat to slightly undulating land with mild climate averaging about 10 inches of rain per year, almost all of which falls in July and August. Summers can be hot but on-shore breezes usually provide relief from the heat. Weather-wise, November through February are considered to be the best times to visit Karachi. Most of the social events, along with most of the tourism, occur during December and January with some additional events occurring in July.

Karachi population estimates range from 12 to 18 million people, growing at a rate of 5% annually, or about 45,000 people per month. Much of the growth is from surrounding rural areas.
Locally, Karachi is known as the "City of Lights" for its liveliness.
