Smoking Wastes Money

I Made it Worse

I regret the day I first lit up the stick of death years ago. I had been convinced it would make me a man. I accepted, as I did not want to be seen as a coward. Smoking that first cigarette sent a warm feeling through my body. That evening, as I walked home, I felt a sense of achievement. My manhood was now intact, and I felt strong just like my friends. I did not know how much money I would waste in the years to come on medical bills and cigarettes. Once you read this true experience, it is strongly suggested that you either stop smoking, or never start to begin with.

This Started an Addiction

I lit up the first time when I was just 16. In those times, life was simple and easy , smoking was a widely promoted fad. The companies who made the cigarettes were not required to place warnings on the packages. I continued having the occasional puff until I was on my own. My senses took leave, making me jump headlong into the irresistible intoxication of cigarettes. Working in the Middle East, I was able to get cigarettes very cheaply in those days. The most popular American brand cost just $ 1.10. Back then, I smoked about 20 death sticks per day, which works out to be around $ 803 for cigarettes for two years.

Moving Forward

An alteration of scenery came immediately after and I began having more high pressure roles in my employment. As with all habitual smokers, I depended on them even more. The number of cigarettes I smoked per day was about 100. This 17 year habit cost me $ 5.50 per day. The amount of $ 34,127.50 was wasted all those years on the death sticks! Is it possible that I could have saved that money instead?

Saving Money would’ve Been Better

The tobacco began taking their toll after years of making my body system their home. The problems I had were clogged lungs and hardened arteries. Two angioplasties were done due to a series of strokes I had. It hurts to know that these surgeries cost me $ 10,000.

Adding It All Up

If I made an total calculation beginning with the day I first lit up, I probably spent close to $ 40,000 on using tobacco alone. Combine that with the angioplasties and medication, it comes to a whopping $ 50,000! Do you want to end up with an identical fate? Money will be saved if you stop smoking.
