Accusations of Tea Party racism soar again in NAACP report

Expressions of racism at Tea Party rallies have inspired the NAACP to officially refute it once again. Last summer the NAACP passed a solution denouncing racial discrimination within the Tea Party and a new report submitted by the organization reinforces that resolution. An NAACP Tea Party report titled “Tea Party Nationalism” states that the movement has given racists, bigots and white supremacists a political voice.

Experiencing a whole lot of Tea Party Nationalism

A Tea Party Nationalism statement by the NAACP had been done. It focuses on the ties between “acknowledged racist hate groups” and Tea Party Factions. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People explains something important in the Tea Party report. It explains that it isn’t throwing a blanket over the movement or allegation though. A forward to the report by NAACP president Ben Jealous states that most Tea Party members are “sincere, principled people of goodwill.”. However, he goes on to say that Tea Party Nationalism sheds light on connections between some known racist groups associated with the Tea Party that “should give all patriotic Americans pause.”.

Bad people nevertheless in the Tea Party

Racial epithets about President Obama were contained in Tea Party rallies. This is what the NAACP Tea Party statement refers to. Tea Party Nationalism recounts incidents where black congressmen accused Tea Party members of shouting racial slurs at them during a March 2010 protest against health care reform. In his forward, Jealous challenged Tea Party leaders to denounce the racism in its protests, also as links the movement has to white supremacists and so-called “birthers” who deny that Obama is a United States citizen.

What solution happened with the NAACP Tea Party

Last July there had been a NAACP convention where the NAACP Tea Party feud started with a resolution condemning the Tea Party for racial discrimination after a NAACP member vote. The NAACP was called racist by some of the Tea Party members due to the media fight that begun. The NAACP Tea Party resolution was a lot like Wednesday’s Tea Party Nationalism report in that is told the Tea Party leaders for making things better since there shouldn’t be racism in the Tea Party. There were numerous within the Tea Party that said there would not be any racial discrimination although they also admitted that racist activity happened at Tea Party rallies.
