Anita Hill: no reason to say I'm sorry for Clarence Thomas accounts

Anita Hill, a professor at Brandeis University, normally does her job and stays out of the news these days, but a weird voice message from Supreme Court Justice Thomas’ right wing wife Virginia changed all that. In accusations that she stands by to this day, Hill said Thomas sexually harassed her in testimony during the sitting justice’s senate confirmation hearings. In a voice message on Oct. 9, which Hill reported to the police, Ms. Thomas suggests that Hill say I’m sorry for warning the Senate that it was about to confirm an alleged sex offender to the highest court in the land.

Thomas in a sexual harassment situation

Sexual harassment within the workplace was what Hill accused Thomas of. This happened In 1991 during Supreme Court confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Thomas had been accused by Hill of pressuring her on dates, making lewd comments and talking about pornographic films to her. This she did, accounts Cable News Network, in hearings televised to all of America. Thomas called the hearings “a national disgrace” and a “high-tech lynching” as he denied all of Hill’s allegations. He had been confirmed by the all-male committee on a 52-48 vote.

Voicemail message states ‘Good morning Anita Hill’

According to a transcript from ABC News, the Oct. 9 message from Ginni Thomas said:

“Good morning Anita Hill, it’s Ginni Thomas. I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and also the years and ask you to think about something. I would love you to think about an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband. So give it some thought. And certainly pray about this and hope that one day you’ll help us understand why you did what you did. O.K., have a good day.”

Anita Hill will not apologize as she says the truth about Thomas had been said.

Thomas makes politics part of Supreme Court

Virginia Thomas said she did leave the message in a statement. She said it was a “peacemaking gesture” that she had been trying to make. She said nothing about the timing. Ms. Thomas is all about being a right wing activist, accounts the NY Times. A political group called Liberty Central focuses on the Obama administration being as “leftist tyranny” in a group she founded. Since she is the wife of a Supreme Court justice who’s finances through anonymous right wing donors, numerous wonder if what she is doing with Liberty Central is even lawful.
