Brooklyn Bridge shut down due to suspect packages

Phone call to 911 gets the Brooklyn Bridge shut down

A call about the Brooklyn Bridge went to the police with a 911 call at 9:38 local time. The caller said that there had been a flashlight that had copper wiring along with a “suspicious package” lying around. Crews came in to investigate as the police closed the bridge as fast as they could and alerted the New York Police Department. The police might have called in bomb squads to help with the investigation. This is unclear yet.

Bundles were lights on Brooklyn Bridge

After police investigated, the Brooklyn Bridge was re-opened to all traffic at 10:55 a.m.. The flashlights found at both ends of the bridge were probably from the “Light the Night” walk for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society that was held on Thursday night. The event included individuals carrying illuminated balloons. This had been to raise awareness of everything. The UFO sightings over New York can be explained with these balloons also. The balloons being illuminated were meant to make cancer awareness. The only problem is that New York City ended up with more troubles because of it.

Construction continues still on the Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge isn’t entirely opened for unfettered access. In 1883, the bridge had been built. Now it has construction on both sides which leaves it with limited traffic. There’s a better safe than sorry viewpoint within the New York Law enforcement Department. This means any threats to the city are investigated. The incident could be considered an overreaction by numerous though. Threats typically lead to things being closed off for a long time. The Brooklyn Bridge reopened fairly quickly thinking about the circumstances.
