Learning More Spanish

In Spanish today, I learned that everything can be either feminine or masculine. It is kind of weird that everything is considered male or female. I am thinking that they probably don't even have the word it in the Spanish language. Maybe that is just an English word. I think that things become male and female in every language except English. It kind of makes sense but also seems like it is going to be a huge hassle. I have to memorize whether things have a la or an el in the front of them. That is going to drive me nuts. Eventually, I am going to have to learn to do it if I want to continue to learn this language.
