Blue Light Regulates Sleep-Wake Cycle

A group of well known scientists have found that blue light produces much impact on the sleeping pattern of human beings. To be frank, circadian cycle of melatonin establishes the fact whether a man sleeps or he is awake. This sleep-wake rhythmic pattern is controlled by this hormone. Now scientists are confident that over-exposure to the blue white light during the daytime and the yellow white light in the evening can manipulate the sleep-wake pattern so that people work hard during the daytime and go to sleep at night. Those who suffer a lot from dementia can get much relief after getting blue white light. According to Mariana Figueiro, light has a major role to play in controlling the sleep-wake cycle. It is much conducive to regulate the circadian mechanism. Therefore, doctors are thinking of install the blue white light in the hospitals and health clinics to give comfort and relief to those patients who are under the onset of dementia.
