Sony’s newest Television has been announced. The big news, though, is that it runs on Google. The new Sony Google TV is going to feature a keyboard controller and Android operating system. Sony Google TV is going to come in two models — a fully integrated TV or a set-top Blue Ray DVD combination box.
Coming out using a Sony Google TV
Sony is saying it has found “the true internet TV revolution” with its partnerships with Google and with Logitech. A BD deck set-top box or a TV from 26 inches to 46 inches is how the TV comes. It will cost anywhere between $399 to $1,399 to get the Sony Google TV. The remote keyboard for the TV resembles a blackberry keyboard which is for two-thumb typing and is called the QWERTY keyboard.
How Google integrates with the Sony Television
The Sony TV integrates Google products into a number of places. An Android system is how the system is run. Google has allowed App development to begin on the Television. The Android Television can have many Apps available. Internet browsing can be done on the Chrome browser that Google has put within the Sony Television. Finally, a custom Google search will search across DVR, Television, and web all at the same time. The Sony Television will provide unfettered access to the internet, rather than the limited access Apple TV offers.
More things added to Sony’s Google TV
All the TVs, like the Apple Television, are different from the Google Sony TV because of the additional features. You can get Sony movies early with the Sony/Google TV sets. This is because Sony will release them early for customers. Also, Logitech helped design the keyboard and remote. That is why it could be programmed to run most devices. The PIP, or page in support, is one of the best features. It allows you to get on Twitter or Facebook while you are watching TV which is helpful for those who already sit for the computer when watching their shows.
The Sony / Google TV possibilities — all four sets and the settop BD box — will be available at Best Purchase on Oct 24. Pre-ordering will open October 13.
